Our center clamp has NEVER cracked, nor have we had to replace a center clamp because of malfunctioning. The center clamp is machine casted rather than prepared from a mold. The back mounting clamp attaches the long tube of the headrest assembly to the back of the chair. Center clamp and back mounting clamp come with the necessary screws and knobs.
